REC is growing into the future
The potential of the sun is tremendous. It is REC’s ambition to
capture this potential and strengthen our position as a leading
global player in the fast-growing solar energy market. Are you
ready for a sunny future on the REC ScanCell team in Narvik?
The Renewable Energy Corporation (REC) ScanCell subsidiary is experiencing fast growth; we are therefore seeking
highly qualified scientists and engineers to join our growing staff at our worldclass
solar cell manufacturing plants. REC ScanCell is located in Narvik, Norway. While our hightech
business offers interesting work challenges, our location is one of the few where highly technical work challenges may be combined with wonderful opportunities for outdoor life:
Hiking, skiing, climbing, scuba diving and fishing opportunities are abundant, only a few minutes’ drive from our stateoftheart
solar cell production facilities, as are family friendly neighborhoods and whale watching
safaris. We are currently seeking to expand our science and technology staff by hiring people holding advanced degrees in
Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science who wish to make an impact in
the solar cell manufacturing technology, while living in a small city. If you find this intriguing, please consider contacting
us about one of our current openings:
Senior Scientist (ID 44508)
This person will likely have a PhD in a physical science, or chemical or electrical engineering and have direct
experience in surface chemistry or surface chemical analyses. He or she must want to drive the process devel opment
with a clear focus on systematically improving the overall production process in order to further increase
solar cell efficiency. A thorough, but broad understanding of chemical and physical principles, as well as demonstrated
experience in applying the scientific method in goaloriented research is desired. Good working know ledge
of applied statistical methods and team building experience is required. Experience from photovoltaic or semi conductor
manufacturing research is highly desirable.
Senior Scientist / Engineer (ID 44509)
We envision a goaloriented extrovert engineer or scientist that can easily interface with a wide range of people with
differing levels of education and life experience, yet fully understand and appreciate the complex physical processing
steps in our production line. This person will likely have a PhD, MS or BS degree in one or more of the following
areas: mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or materials science. The successful candidate will have
demonstrated experience in successfully applying scientific methods to practical problem solving in team settings.
Scientist / Engineer (ID 44510)
The work assignments will consist of improving and developing better processes for solar cell manufacture
with emphasis on plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) and diffusive phosphorus doping.
The successful candidate will have a recent advanced degree and relevant research experience.
Chemical / Engineering
Technician (ID 44511)
This person will be a “hands on” person to assist in process development and SOPs. Much work will focus on chemical
analyses, process monitoring and development of measure ment methods involving wet chemistry processes. The
successful candidate will have an associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry and relevant laboratory experience.
All positions reports to the Technology Manager.
For all positions, please submit a CV, scanned copies of transcripts and a cover letter describing related experiences
and your reasons for seeking the position through www.jobbnorge.no. Refer to position ID number.
Closing date for applications as soon as possible. At the latest on April
