GEF postpones workshop in Morocco to September

A workshop of the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) to review its photovoltaic programs in Marrakech, Morocco, originally planned for April (see PI 2/2000, page 6), has been postponed until September 26.

According to GEF program manager Frank Rittner, the workshop, under the working title »Making a Difference in the Emerging PV Market,« is intended to be »a forum for cross-fertilization« between the GEF project leaders, country representatives, and some members of the PV business community. But Fred Morse, a Washington-based consultant on energy and renewables organizing the meeting, wants to keep the number of participants down to about 60, with only a few from the commercial side. »They make modules. They’re not in marketing,« says Morse, who would prefer they read the published results of the workshop. »We don’t need a whole roomful of them. They are other meetings for them.«
