A small but sufficient PV system provides light to the Luvunvu school for evening courses

The rural school Luvundu SSS, recently inaugurated in Willowvale, South Africa, is the first school to now receive electricity by a 880 watt PV system. The system includes eight PV modules of 110 W, one Isofoton charge regulator of 30 A, one sine wave inverter of 1,200 VA, and tubular batteries of 546 Ah. The European Union Ambassador Michael Laidler and the Director of Renewable Energy from the South African Department of Minerals and Energy Ms. Lisa Kosi attended the opening, among others. The remaining 999 systems should be installed by end of June.
