Solon AG takes over ASP AG

At the end of March, the German module manufacturer and system integrator Solon AG of Berlin bought 100 percent of the shares of the Swiss inverter manufacturer ASP AG of Laupen, Zurich.

With this purchase Solon AG continues to complete its product portfolio and comes closer to being a system house and not only a module manufacturer. ASP is famous for robust stand-alone inverters for isolated PV systems, an aspect missing from the Solon product portfolio, although they have, with the inverter series NEG, an in-house production for grid-connected inverters already. For Solon it was a logical take-over because of their aim to gain market share in countries like Morocco where most of the PV systems are isolated ones.
