WindWelt AG to sell systems at its solar park
On May 10, WindWelt AG, which belongs to the SolarWorld AG group, dedicated its first solar park in Oberötzdorf-Untergriesbach near Passau, Germany. The PV plant's total power is almost 1.68 MW, based on 11,178 SolarWorld modules at 150 W each.

The modules are divided between eight systems with 97.2 kW and nine systems with 99.2 kW. Whereas 10 of the systems entered production at the end of 2002, the remaining seven systems were powered up in January and March. The solar park is expected to produce around 1.7 million kWh per year. WindWelt says net investment costs for the turnkey solar park amounted to
€7.5 million ($8.4 million), or €4,473 ($4,999) per kW.
Hamburg-based Conergy AG, and its subsidiary SunTechnics, a franchise PV integrator chain, designed and constructed the park. Each of the 17 separate systems are operated by a limited company completely owned by WindWelt.
But WindWelt has plans to sell the systems to investment companies such as the Hamburg-based Emissionshaus König & Cie. GmbH & Co. KG, GLS Bank, or Munich-based BVT Unternehmensgruppe. Provisions are also being made to sell systems to private persons. The purchase price of the systems is up for
negotiation.
