As fast as putting up roof tiles: The
Isofoton 150 W modules, framed in a SOLRIF aluminum casing
from Ernst Schweizer AG, are laid directly on the roof
beams. |

The Spanish manufacturer Isofoton has begun assembling its
monocrystalline 150 W modules with an aluminum rim from Schweizer for delivery
to their German distributor, Biohaus PV Handels GmbH, which also offers a
complete mounting system. The 100 × 135 cm modules, which are fastened on the
roof with stainless steel mounts, have multi-contact connection cables. A zinc
sheet metal plate provides waterproofing where the modules end and the tiles
begin. Through ventilation openings above and below the module area, a cooling
effect is produced, which, according to promotional material from Biohaus,
results in a higher energy yield than from both roof-integrated systems without
underside ventilation and normal roof installations. Biohaus did not provide any
measurements. The system, including inverter, costs about 12,000 DM ($5,670 USD)
per kW and can be delivered internationally.
