Thin-film triple pack from RWE Schott Solar

As of November, amorphous silicon thin-film modules from RWE Schott Solar GmbH have been available in a triple pack: three panels of the already well-known ASI-F 32/12 model are combined inside one aluminum frame.

Triple pack: RWE Schott's new a-Si module ASI-F 100 consists of three 32 W modules.

They are electrically connected in series and are – outfitted with Tyco connection plugs – sold as one large module, the ASI-F 100. The idea is to reduce installation time and costs, since these large units only require connection of one third of the electrical contacts compared to the three single modules and less mounting work. The ASI-F 32/12 model is already certified according to IEC 61264 standard, which is why the triple pack ASI-F 100 needs no extra testing, says RWE sales manager Nicolas Gorihsen.

The module comes with a power rating of 97 W and a tolerance of 10 percent in each direction.
RWE Schott is providing a 20-year guarantee for 80 percent of the minimum power rating and a product guarantee of two years. The cost for end-customers lies at €3.17 ($4.06) per W before tax, but the triple pack module is already sold out until the end of the first quarter of 2005.
